  • Recent Groups

REI Oklahoma - Leading Through Crisis

Over a period of a few months, this team has invested in their growth by digging into the 11 Perspective Principles of Turning Adversity into Advantage. They dove into the deep end on these topics to serve, encourage, and grow each other through all life has thrown at them over the last couple of years.

During our last session we built upon that foundation and worked on developing a vision of where they want to go using the Law of Navigation.

We started by defining reality, a leader’s first responsibility. Then we began to clarify their vision of how they want to grow and perform as a team.

Becoming a Person of Influence - GSCC

Congratulations to this team from The Good Shepherd Community Clinic, Inc. for taking themselves on during our mastermind group around "Becoming a Person of Influence." I am so proud of how they purposefully engaged in this process of growth as they strive to live out their core values of love, respect, fight, resilience, and flexibility.

    • This growth process was eye opening for me. Everyone in the group influenced me in their own way, and because of them, I am becoming a better person of influence.

    • I realized that we often miss the importance of influence in our daily relationships and the potential impact that we can make.

    • This process of growth bridged the gap between success and fulfillment for me.

    • I decided to test John Maxwell's suggestions and in just a short time, I realized that the old man knew what he was talking about.

    • By letting my team know I have faith in them, they shine for who they are.

    • If I have a positive attitude about people, believe the best of them, and act on my beliefs, then I can have a significant impact on their lives.

    • I grasped that I influence someone at all times.

    DISC Leadership - Taco Casa

Congratulations to this amazing leadership team from Taco Casa Durant & Calera! The way they were able to take a step back and ask.. “What can I do differently to be more effective?” was so inspiring. I can’t adequately describe what it’s like to BE in the room with them week in and week out as they entered into the process of growth. Some of their biggest golden nuggets from DISC leadership were:

    • I am seeking to understand before trying to be understood.

    • I have learned to understand myself, understand others, and adapt my leadership to fit the needs of others.

    • I was able to see my leaders in a different light than what was portrayed to me.

    • I am more aware now of how others perceive me. With that awareness and with patience, I can become a visionary leader that communicates effectively.

    • The more sessions we went through, the more I understood about myself and my confidence grew in my role.

    • I viewed part of my personality style as a weakness. My big takeaway is I no longer view it as a weakness, but a strength in my leadership.

    • If you need them, you can't lead them effectively.

    • This process gave me the incentive to keep learning and to recognize that I am who God made me.

    • I take this and share it everywhere and hopefully it will help others as much as it helped me to become a better person.

Making Sense of Your People Puzzle - Murray State

What a fun day of growth with this group from Murray State College as we journeyed through understanding their personalities, making sense of their people puzzle, and diving deeper into their purpose/why so that they can work more effectively as a team. Here are some of their top takeaways from the day:

    • Continue to grow in my awareness so that I can better view things from the perspectives of others.
    • No one has a wrong personality. Understanding this was a personality assessment...not a test. Never put wrong in from of person.
    • I am understanding more about myself, others, adapting, and evaluating how I should deliver something based upon how they would be able to receive it.
    • I can choose to change myself, and when I change, everything will change for me. The first change is keeping my why the most important thing.
    • My way of doing things is not the only right way of doing things. I now have the awareness that others will complete tasks differently than I would.
    • To work at adapting to other personality preferences, we have to change, not change others.
    • I am now conscientious of how others might misread me, my blind spots. I want to adapt my expectations of others and use the insights I gained during the session to build relationships with them.
    • I need to work on being unoffendable by people who have more of a task focus versus people focus.

Becoming a Person of Influence - GSCC

It was a privilege to serve this team from Good Shepherd Community Clinic during our mastermind group around "Becoming a Person of Influence." I am so proud of how they took themselves on and purposefully engaged in this process of growth as they strive to live out their core values of love, respect, fight, resilience, and flexibility. Here are some of their top takeaways:
    • Now that I have identified fear as one of the main barriers of understanding others, I am overcoming it. “Fear, you will not own me”
    • I learned to see and understand others from their perspective instead of just jumping to judgement.
    • By learning to ask and gain permission before giving advice, it has strengthened my relationships and created more respect.
    • I have been empowered to stay positive and maintain a strong attitude toward the challenges I face. This growth stuff is hard, however, the outcomes are absolutely worth it.
    • I learned that I can lead authentically in my strengths and gifts.
    • Now that I have identified fear as one of the main barriers of understanding others, I am overcoming it. “Fear, you will not own me”
  • The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership - Sonic

    • The Law of Process - “Champions are not made in the ring, they are merely recognized there.” Leadership Develops Daily, Not in a Day
    • The Law of Navigation - Anyone Can Steer the Ship, but It Takes a Leader to Chart the Course
    • The Law of Addition - Leaders Add Value by Serving Others
    • The Law of Connection - Leaders Touch a Heart Before They Ask for a Hand
    • The Law of Empowerment - Only Secure Leaders Give Power to Others
    • The Law of the Big Mo - Momentum Is a Leader’s Best Friend

Developing the LEader Within You 2.0

    • I cannot become a great leader until I lead myself effectively.
    • Gained valuable insight on how to train new hires more effectively
    • Changed the way I see my leadership role. I learned how much of an impact I can make in the entire organization. I thought I had to be over someone to lead them which is just positional thinking not realizing that influence is leadership.
    • I am not alone in this process of growth nor the only one who needs to work on things. Being in this group has greatly encouraged me.
    • Determined priorities by organizing and structuring what is important and urgent versus just urgent.
    • Re-prioritized the team’s daily list of tasks and what a difference that can make.
    • Gained clarity, structure, and accountability around our team members' roles.
    • I learned to focus on where I am most effective (my strengths) and not on things that I am not good at so that I can hand those things off to others who are more gifted in those areas and love doing them.
